Lactation Consultants of America Insurance Coverage Check
It is the patient's responsibility to know their benefits. Therefore, it is the lactating parent’s job to call their insurance to verify benefits covered for lactation services. The code to check is S9443 with Dx Z39.1.
If a plan does not cover lactation and the patient is seen, they will be responsible for the contracted rate for S9443 for the lactating parent.
